The afternoon was highlighted by the graduation address, given by James King, vice-chancellor for the Tennessee Technology Centers. King told the graduates that their learning "will not end today, but will continue for a lifetime."

Two students, Sue Butler and Donna Thompson, were presented certificates for Perfect Attendance. Neither one missed a single hour of training while they were enrolled at the Center.

Presentations to the Student Senate members and those who had served on the Safety Committee were made by Jan Latimer, the Center's counselor. Those being recognized included: Senate members - Shelia Castleman, Mitzi Calhoun, Shalyn Davidson, Charlene Duke, Tami Kelley, Jone Kirksey, Barbara Pendergrass and Linda Perritt; and Safety Committee members - Alisha Burress, Shelia Castleman, Nicole Jordan and Teresa Johnson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the foyer in honor of the graduating class of 2001.
