Kari Lynn Arnhold
1961-2004
WILDERSVILLE: Services for Kari Lynn Arnhold, 43,
were conducted on Sunday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Huntingdon First United Methodist Church with Dr. Paul
Mullikin and Bro. Bob White officiating. Interment
followed in Hebron Cemetery.
Mrs. Arnhold died on Tuesday, November 2.
She was born August 30, 1961 in Geneva, Illinois. She
had been a waitress for the Garden Plaza Hotel in
Jackson before an automobile accident six years ago
which left her disabled.
Survivors include her mother, Jeannine Allen of
Huntingdon; her father, William Arnhold of Huntingdon;
one daughter, Amber Arnhold; one son, Brandon Arnhold
both of Jackson; one sister, Kris Palmer of Aurora,
Illinois; one brother, Bill Arnhold of Huntingdon and
two grandchildren.
Ovie Bevill
1910-2004
HUNTINGON: Services for Ovie Beville, 93, were
conducted on Friday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Dilday Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in
Sellers Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Beville died on Tuesday, November 2 at the Golden
Years Homestead in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born November 12, 1910 in Clarksburg to the late
Early and Callie Williams Scott. She was a self-employed
child care provider and a member of the Huntingdon
Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Sammie Beville; four brothers, J.D. Scott,
Vedus Scott, Houston Scott, and Curtis Scott and three
sisters, Edith Pendergrass, Oma Lee Ellis and Ruth Nell
Ellis.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Beville-Dada of Fort
Wayne, Indiana; a son, Allen Beville of Wilmington,
North Carolina; a sister, Buelah Anderson of Tennessee
and a brother, Warren G. Scott of Huntsville, Alabama;
six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; seven
step-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.

Dan Drewry Carr
1927-2004
COTTAGE GROVE: Services for Dan Drewry Carr, 76,
were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9 at LeDon Chapel
of Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with the Rev. Kenny
Carr officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery in
Cottage Grove.
Mr. Carr, retired clerk for Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline
in Cottage Grove for 28 years, died Sunday, November 7
at McKenzie Healthcare Center.
He was born December 19, 1927 in Milan to the late John
William Carr and Verda Blanche Drewry Carr. He was a
U.S. Navy World War II veteran, member of Long Heights
Baptist Church, former president of Henry County Heart
Association, former Lions Club member, served in the
Cottage Grove Fire Department, served as Cottage Grove
mayor and constable, and taught literacy classes in his
home through the Literacy Program.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Tom) Parr of
Cottage Grove; two sons, Danny (Laurie) Carr of Jasper
and Kenny (Jackie) Carr of McKenzie; a sister, Mary
Muzzall of Gleason and five grandchildren, Derek, Kelsey
and Jeff Carr and Dusty and Jordan Parr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie Ridley
Carr and a sister, Sadie Love Carr.
Robert Lee Guill
1920-2004
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI: Services for Robert Lee Guill,
84, formerly of McKenzie, were conducted in St. Louis
Missouri on Monday, October 4 with interment following
in the Jefferson National Cemetery. Mr. Guill, retired
from Anheuser-Busch, died September 29 in a VA hospice.
He was born July 17, 1920 in McKenzie to the late Le and
Uva (Billie) Guill. He graduated from McKenzie High
School and attended Bethel College prior to World War II
enlistment. Mr. Guill served in the 8th Army Air Corps
as a tail gunner in a B-17. He flew over 30 combat
missions and was awarded the Air Medal with three oak
leaf clusters. He was a life member of VFW Post 4939 and
enjoyed their fellowship on return visits.
Survivors include his wife, Norine Stoker Guill; eight
children, Michael Guill, Melanie Jahns, Cindy Digar,
Brett Bono, Brian Guill, Betty Guill, Kieth Guill and
Cheryl Guill; 20 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren, all of the St. Louis area.
Eva Lucille Dabbs
1918-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Eva Lucille Dabbs, 86, were
at McKenzie Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday,
November 6. Mrs. Dabbs died on Wednesday, November 3.
She was born May 20, 1918 in rural Gibson County near
Bradford to the late Buford Mitchell and Alice Irene
McCollum Mitchell. Her husband, Dalton (Jack) Richard
Dabbs preceded her in death in August, 1998. Two
brothers, Charlie Wade Mitchell and Ruel Craft preceded
her in death.
Survivors include three children, Betty S. Miller,
Cleitus Lee Dabbs and Billy Gene Dabbs, all of McKenzie;
four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a
sister, Josie Craft Scott, 101, who resides in McKenzie.
Aline Eskew
1921-2004
CLARKSBURG: Services for Aline Eskew, 83, were
conducted on Wednesday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Dilday Funeral Home East Visitation Room with Brother
Wayne Holmes officiating. Interment followed in Long
Rock Cemetery.
She died on Monday, November 1 at the Life Care Center
in Bruceton.
Mrs. Eskew was born April 15, 1921 in Carroll County to
the late William E. and Nevada Bowden Pugh. She was a
homemaker, a lifelong member of Long Rock Methodist
Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Carlos A. Eskew.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James T. Guill.
Survivors include two daughters, Katheryn Holt of
Clemmons, North Carolina and Janet Eskew Whitbourne of
Charlotte, North Carolina; one son, William C. Eskew of
Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Mildred Holmes of
Huntingdon; four grandchildren and five

Louise Ownby Hastings
1944-2004
MCKENZIE: Services for Louise Ownby Hastings, 59,
were t 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 6 at Brummitt
Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Davidson and Bro.
Jerry Drye officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.
Mrs. Hastings, a retired factory worker, died Tuesday,
November 2 at University Alabama Birmingham Hospital in
Birmingham, Alabama.
She was born December 14, 1944 to the late Bennie R.
Ownby and Lena M. Townes Ownby. She was a member of
Henry Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Hastings; five
sisters, June Cooper of Highland, Indiana, Wilma Cruse
of Hollow Rock, Billy Jean Petty of Paris, Iris Edwards
of Huntingdon and Beverly Garner of Millington.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kelly E. Hastings;
two brothers, Bennie Ray Ownby and Tommy Ownby and a
sister, Maxine Ownby.
Leo George Lancie
1916-2004
TREZEVANT: Services for Leo George Lancie, 88, will
be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10 at First
Baptist Church in Trezevant with Minister Malcolm Norton
officiating. Burial will follow in Trezevant Cemetery.
Mr. Lancie, a retired maintenance mechanic, died
Saturday, November 6 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born November 2, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
to the late Emma Kennedy Lancie and Denezzio Lancie. He
was a member of First Baptist Church in Trezevant where
he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and was
a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Imogene Lancie; two
daughters, Linda Walpole and Paula Wood, both of
Trezevant; one brother, George Lancie of Pittsburgh;
three sisters, Mamie Fetcho, Patty Rossack and Elinor
Mercer, all of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
James Michael Pinckley
1952-2004
JACKSON: Services for James Michael Pinckley, 52,
formerly of Huntingdon, were conducted at 2:00 p.m.,
Sunday, November 7 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel
with Brother Charles Thomason officiating. Interment
followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pinckley died Friday, November 5 at his home.
He was born August 5, 1952 in Nashville to Jesse and
Natalie Pinckley of Huntingdon, who survive. He was a
supervisor with Wal-Mart. He was preceded in death by
one sister, Debbie Sadler and one brother, Donnie
Sadler.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Blankenship and
Natalie Michelle Luther, both of Lexington; one sister,
Sharon Bolen of Huntingdon and two granddaughters.

Rozena Roberts Smith
1916-2004
BRUCETON: Services for Rozena Roberts Smith, 89,
were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9 at Hebron United
Methodist Church with the Revs. Keith Roberts and Robert
White officiating. Burial was in Hebron Methodist Church
cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, a retired seamstress for HIS Company, died
Saturday, November 6 at her home.
She was born October 18, 1916 near Bruceton to the late
Chester Harlan Roberts and Sophie Bobbitt Roberts. She
was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Lindy Wheatley; two
step-grandchildren, Richie Wheatley and Stephanie King,
all of Graceville, Florida and three
step-great-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Erie Johnson
and Thomas J. Smith and two brothers, James H. Roberts
and Chester B. Roberts.
Billy Ray Watkins
1932-2004
TREZEVANT: Services for Billy Ray Watkins, 72, were
at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6 at Pleasant Green
Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Holly Leaf
Community with Rev. Lynn Walker and Rev. Mike Ridgley
officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Brummitt Funeral Home of Trezevant was in charge of the
arrangements.
Mr. Watkins died on Wednesday, November 3 at Milan
General Hospital in Milan.
He was born October 4, 1932 and was the owner of the
Holly Leaf Grocery, Bill’s Dairy Bar, Watkins Grocery
and was retired from the Tennessee Department of
Transportation. He was an elder of the Pleasant Green
Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of Pleasant
Green Masonic Lodge #291.
He was preceded in death by his parents, U.L. and Lena
Coyd Watkins; a brother, Johnny Watkins and a sister,
Earlene Brockman.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Walker Watkins; two sons,
Joe Ray Watkins of McKenzie and Stephen Watkins of
Trezevant; four sisters, Juttie Maynard of Trezevant,
Eulene Walker of McKenzie, Imogene Patterson of Ohio and
Marion Olds of McKenzie and one grandson, Devin Watkins.
Pauline Odell Marshall
1917-2004
GLEASON: Services for Pauline Odell Marshall, 87,
will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 10 at
Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Beal
officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Marshall, a homemaker, died Saturday, November 6 at
Hillview Nursing Home in Dresden.
She was born July 13, 1917 in Dresden to the late Oscar
Lee and Janie Newberry Oliver.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Marshall; three
sons, Paul Adams of Gleason, John Adams of Grosse Ile,
Michigan and Jerry Adams of North Port, Florida; two
daughters, Carole King of Harrisburg, Illinois and
Barbara Baungartner of Schererville, Indiana; two
sisters, Delma Roney of Gleason and Rachel Etheridge of
Bethel Springs; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Thedolia Kay Setty
1946-2004
CEDAR GROVE: Services for Thedolia Kay Setty, 58,
were at 1:00 p.m. at Reed’s Chapel Funeral Home in
Lexington. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in
Henderson County.
Mrs. Setty, a factory worker, died Monday, November 1 at
Henderson County Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, William Setty; her
father, Bobby Lee Jones of Cedar Grove; two sons,
William Carl Ward and Ronald Lee Ards, both of Cedar
Grove; one daughter, Tina Louise Stanford of Ohio; two
stepsons, Raymond Setty and William Earl Setty, Jr.,
both of Ohio; a stepdaughter, Geneva Royster of Ohio;
nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Donald S. Haywood
1938-2004
BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS: Services for Donald S.
Haywood, 66, will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11
at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Powell
officiating. Burial will be in Caledonia Cemetery in
McKenzie.
Mr. Haywood, security for Nestle EEICH, died Sunday,
November 7 at St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorsville,
Illinois.
He was born August 17, 1938 in Atwood to the late James
Lewis Haywood and Lorene Haywood Baxter.
Survivors include a stepson Lowell Phillips of Central
City, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Darlene Olson and
Elizabeth Gagne, both of Taylorville, Illiinois; two
brothers, James Haywood of Milan and Stanley Haywood of
McKenzie; a sister, Ann Burns of Trezevant; and 26
step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Haywood and a
stepdaughter, Cindy Georgean.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10 from 4:30-9:00
p.m. and Thursday, November 11 from 8:00 a.m. until time
for services.
Richard Andrew “Andy” Williamson
1975-2004
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Richard Andrew “Andy”
Williams, 29, formerly of Huntingdon, died on Wednesday,
October 13 in New Orleans. Funeral services were
incomplete at press-time. Chase Funeral Home of
Huntingdon is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Williamson was born February 18, 1975 in Jackson. He
was a Mariner Merchant Marine for the Coast Guard. He
was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank
Roser.
Survivors include his father and mother, Dr. Steve
Williamson and Evelyn Williamson of Huntingdon; hs
paternal grandparents, John Daniel and Rita Williamson
of Cedar Grove, his maternal grandmother, Martha Roser
of Huntingdon and two sisters, Marcella Carder of
Huntingdon and Heather Williamson of Knoxville. |
